Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+4) shot par in the second round of the AT&T Byron Nelson and did not make the cut. It wasn’t enough to make it to the weekend in this PGA Tour tournament held on TPC Four Seasons course in Texas.
The tournament, in any event, was subject to bad weather conditions, notably strong wind which affected those who played on Thursday afternoon the most, as was the case for the Spanish golfer, which clearly put them at a disadvantage.
Today was about making up for lost ground, he was much more accurate on the greens and he tried to come through and save the day, but it just wasn’t possible. He made two bogeys and two birdies. It’s the first cut he’s missed after four consecutive tournaments in which he was in the battle to make it to the top. A small bump in the road during a very positive evolution in his game.
Gonzalo’s next PGA Tour tournament, except if he receives an invitation for the Memorial or the Dean & DeLuca Invitational, will be the FedEX St. Jude Classic.
