Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (PAR) shot a 75 in the third round of the Valero Texas Open. The directors of the PGA Tour decided to start the games early due to the bad weather forecast and the truth is that the bad weather was the main factor in the tough day at the office.
Rough day of golf on the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio. So much so that only two golfers managed to shoot lower than a 70: Ryan Palmer and Camilo Villegas. The rest was a complete massacre. Gonzalo was among the golfers who suffered the most this round, although he was able to hold on tight and stay afloat to save the day once again in a round in which four golfers shot above an 80.
Gonzalo shot a 75, with five bogeys and two birdies, and went down nine spots in the rankings. He’s currently in 35th place, six shots from the top ten and it’s extremely close at the moment. The Spanish golfer will try to take advantage of tomorrow, Sunday, as much as possible, where lots can happen still.
The games will start earlier again this Sunday, and they’ll go out in threes, off two tees. Gonzalo will play at 9:30 am with J.J. Henry and Harold Varner III.
