Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (+5) had a very tough day on Monterey Peninsula. He had a partial score of +4 when the game was suspended once again for the second day in a row at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am.
The tee off was pushed back due to the fog, and thus the second round was left unfinished as well. Gonzalo still has three holes to play before starting the third round on Spyglass. Another day where the game was suspended just minutes too late for the Spanish golfer. Just before the horn went off, he made a double bogey on the 15th hole. A rough setback just before heading back to the clubhouse, and after a round in which he fought hard to recover from a bad start.
The tournament cut will be established after the third round. Gonzalo needs a big day on Saturday to make it through. He’s currently five shots away from the objective. The good news is that Spyglass, unlike usual, seems to be letting up a bit and golfers are finishing with very low scores this week.
