Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (PAR) shot a 75 in his last round of the Career Builder Challenge. The Madrid native did not make the cut after a chaotic, roller coaster round in which a lot of things happened.
The outcome explains it all: five birdies, six bogeys and a double bogey. Russian roulette, which even included a shot from inside the lake. Literally. With the water above his ankles on the 9th hole of the Nicklaus Tournament Course, the last rotation of the tournament which was Gonzalo’s turn.

The Spanish golfer gave it everything he had. It was the complete interchanging of shots. He knew he needed birdies and he took a risk. But this time it didn’t turn out well. The double bogey happened on the last hole when making the cut was already impossible.
Gonzalo will play again next week. He’ll compete in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
