Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (-5) made the cut at the Sony Open. The Spanish golfer shot a 68 and will play this weekend in the Sony Open.
Gonzalo flirted with the top 10, to the point that he even made it to fifth place with a total of eight under par with just two holes to go.
However, a bogey and a double bogey in the end on the ninth hole bumped him down quite a bit in the rankings to 48th place, four shots from the top ten and two shots above the cut line.
Gonzalo was much more on point from tee to green and on the putt, but ended up breaking the momentum of a round that was headed toward him being in the running to fight for at least second place, because Justin Thomas (-17) continues to be untouchable.
Gonzalo will play today starting at eleven in the morning local time, ten at night on the Iberian Peninsula.
