Gonzalo Fernández Castaño will compete in the RSM Classic this week, the last tournament of the PGA Tour year. The Madrid native will attempt to finish the year 2016 out in a big way. The tournament is held on two courses at the Sea Island Resort, a very exclusive residential area on the St. Simons Island, in Georgia, very close to Florida.
It will be Gonzalo’s twenty-eighth tournament in 2016, a tight, tough schedule thanks to the fact that he was able to recover the PGA Tour card. A good year without a doubt which just needs that extra push, a great performance that will allow him to go into next year with a good portion already covered.
Gonzalo is coming off missing the cut at the OHL Classic, although his game continues to be in good state. It’s true that he’s more tired mentally than physically as the end of the year approaches, but it’s just one last effort that the Spanish golfer is ready and willing to make. After, he’ll have an almost two month break, at least from competition.
Gonzalo will play this Thursday at 4:50 pm, Spanish time, with Roberto Castro and Chris Stroud.
