Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (-6) shot a 69 in the second round of the Sanderson Farms Championship, PGA Tour tournament held on the Country Club of Jackson course in Mississippi.
The Madrid native continues to accumulate points and to climb his way to the top of the tournament. He is now in 25th place in the rankings, two shots from the top ten and six from the leader, Grayson Murray. At full speed ahead, shooting a 69 every day, isn't too bad at all.
Gonzalo made five birdies and just two bogeys. His game was a bit more refined than on Thursday off the tee and he is starting to be consistent with the putter. The end of the round for Gonzalo was excellent, with two sensational birdies on the 7th and 8th holes and an incredible recovery on the 9th to save the par after having missed off the tee to the left.
Today, Saturday, he'll play in the third round with Luke List and Jonathan Randolph at 5:32 pm, Spanish time.
