Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (-3) shot a 69 in the first round of the Sanderson Farms Championship, PGA Tour tournament held on the Country Club of Jackson in Mississippi.
A good start for the Spanish golfer with a somewhat inconsistent round, where he had a hard time off the tee, but in which he was able to come back and compensate for his errors using a lot of imagination, very good irons and a top notch short game. As it usually goes, he couldn't have made many less shots.
Gonzalo is now in 38th place, three shots from the top ten and six from the leader, American golfer Kevin Streelman.
This Friday he’ll play in the second round at 2:30 pm, Spanish time. Gonzalo will practically open up the course, which is why it's a good opportunity to take advantage of the good state of the greens to have a good round.
