Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño shot a 70 in the third round of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship and is now in the top ten with just 18 holes to go. The Madrid native has a great opportunity this Sunday to finish at the top and to start to secure a leading spot in the order of merit in the FedEX Cup playoffs.
Gonzalo was much more accurate off the tee this Saturday. As far as the four fairways he caught on Friday, today he bumped it up to ten, a commendable number. What’s more, he caught thirteen greens, although he wasn’t as on point with the putter as he has been on other days.
The final outcome was two birdies and one bogey, good proof that goes to show that he suffered very little on the tough Scarlet Course at the Ohio State University.
Gonzalo will play in the fourth round at 5:40 pm, Spanish time, with Kevin Tway.
