Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño shot a 68 in the first round of the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft Nabisco, second stop of the Web.com Tour Final Series.
The Spanish golfer had an action-packed round, especially in the final stretch. He made four birdies, an eagle and three bogeys, finishing off the last five holes in a row without having made a par. He's currently situated at three under par, putting him in 30th place in the tournament, very close to the head of the pack. He's just two shots from the top ten and four shots from the three golfers in the lead.
Gonzalo’s long game wasn't as solid as in other rounds, but he managed to convert a lot of the options for birdie. In fact, he was one of the best in the first round as far as efficiency on the greens.
Gonzalo will play in the second round at 9:23 pm, Spanish time.
