Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (-2) made the cut at the DAP Championship, first tournament of the Web.com Tour Final Series. First step, check. The Madrid native had to wait until Saturday morning to verify it. He was unable to finish yesterday due to lack of light. The game had to be suspended because of the rain and kept a lot of golfers from being able to finish the round.
Gonzalo was able to play fourteen holes on Friday with a partial score of two over par for the day. A difficult situation that left him on the fence as far as making the cut. He returned to play on Saturday with the pressure of having to do well on the last four holes left in order to make the cut. Done. A birdie and three pars and a cut under his belt.
Gonzalo will play in the third round today with the objective of moving up in the rankings and getting closer to the top ten. Four top tens in the all four tournaments of the Final Series would secure the card.
