Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño shot a 71 in his final performance at the Price Cutter Charity Championship. The Madrid native was not able to keep the ship sailing at the same speed he had reached in the last three days, but he did manage to finish under par.
Finally, with a total of -17, he ended up in eleventh place with no tie in the tournament held on the Highland Springs course in Missouri, very good score, the second best of the season, which moved him up thirteen spots in the Web.com Tour rankings.
Gonzalo made a really great move. He is now in 64th place in the Web.com Tour top 25, which means he has secured his place in the Final Series, the last stretch of the season reserved for the top 75 of the Web.com Tour and the top 75 of the PGA Tour who did not make it to the FedEX Cup. Those 150 golfers will battle it out for the 25 cards at stake.
Be that as it may, Gonzalo can still avoid the Final Series, or at least go into the tournaments with the PGA Tour card in hand if he plays well in these last two tournaments. The next date on the calendar is this week at the News Sentinel Open in Tennessee.
