Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño continues to move up in the Price Cutter Charity Championship in Missouri. The Spanish golfer shot a 66 in the third round and is now in fifth place in the tournament, just two shots from the leader.
Fernández-Castaño made seven birdies and just one bogey, another fantastic card that will allow him to dream big this Sunday on the Highland Springs course. The Madrid native might not only take home his first victory in the Web.com Tour, but also resolve the entire season. A win would secure his spot in the top 25 at the end of the year, and thus, he would be granted the PGA Tour card. The main goal of the year is within an arm’s length distance.
Sealing the deal won't be easy. It's never easy. Gonzalo will have to polish off another very low card in order to be in the running. Nobody is budging here and there's no option other than to give it all he's got each and every round of golf. In Fernandez-Castaño’s favor is his experience, that he's a winner and the excellent state his game is in at the moment. He's the third best golfer of the tournament on the regulation greens, an excellent pillar to lean on and with which to take on the last and final round with all the confidence in the world.
Gonzalo will play this Sunday at 4:50 pm, in the second-to-last game of the day, with Kevin Tway and Richy Werenski.
