Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will play in the Price Cutter Charity Championship starting this Thursday, Web.com Tour tournament held on the Highlands Spring course in Missouri. There are just three tournaments left of the regular season of American golf’s silver division, in other words, three opportunities to secure one of Gonzalo’s two essential objectives for this season: finish in the top 25 (he needs a win in order to get there) or in the top 75, a goal that is currently within reach as he is just two positions away.
Gonzalo has been able to maintain an extraordinarily strong level of play for a while now, especially from tee to green. This is why, for example, he’s made nine cuts in the last ten tournaments. That being said, he only needs to close the full circle in this current state of solid golf with a good week on the greens.
In Missouri he’ll need the invaluable help of the putter once again. If we go by what happened last year in this same tournament, it will be necessary to make a lot of birdies to get to the top. Van der Walt won with -23 and the cut was at -6.
Gonzalo will play this Thursday at 12:40 pm, local time, seven hours more in Spain, tee off on the 10th hole, with Joel Dahmen and Michael Arnaud.
