Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño turned in his best card of the tournament this Saturday in the Digital Ally Open and moved up a good handful of spots in the rankings. The Spanish golfer shot a 67, with five birdies and just one bogey, and is now in the top 25 of the tournament. A good day with lots of action which will allow him to be in the fight this Sunday for big things in Kansas City.
Gonzalo has the top ten at just three shots and fourth place at four. Anything having to do with finishing in the top 5 would be incredible news, because it would practically secure his spot in the top 75 of the Web.com Tour at the end of the season and thus, guarantee his spot in the Final Series of the Tour. This would be a big relief, with the last tournaments within reach.
Gonzalo will play this Sunday at 10:22 am local time (seven hours more in Spain) on the Nicklaus GC course at Lionsgate. The last round will go by tee in groups of three. Gonzalo will play with Matt Davidson and Matt Fast.
