Gonzalo Fernández -Castaño will play in the LECOM Health Challenge, Web.com Tour tournament starting this Thursday after a week's break. The tournament will be held on the Upper Course, at the Peek’n Peak Resort at Findley Lake in New York.
Gonzalo will play starting at 6:58 pm, Spanish time, with Joel Dahmen and Tag Ridings. The countdown is on for the Spanish golfer in attempts to reach the main goal: recover the PGA Tour card by finishing in the top 25 of the Web.com Tour. He is currently at 68th place in the rankings, which means he needs to take it up a notch, preferably sooner than later. The situation isn't alarming nor drastic by any means, but the sooner he starts making headway the easier it will be to reach his goal.
Gonzalo’s game is on point, much improved in the past few weeks. The results are there. Unquestionable. Incredibly solid. Six consecutive cuts passed and a top ten.
The Madrid naive intends to play these two weeks, rest in Utah in three weeks and then take on the last stretch of competition (five tournaments before the playoffs) knowing exactly what he needs to do in order to end up in the Top 25.
