Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño shot a 71 in the second round of the Air Capital Classic, Web.com Tour tournament held at the Crestview Country Club in Wichita, Arkansas.
The Spanish golfer started the round off with a nice birdie, but afterwards was not able to deliver as far as consistency goes to continue with the rhythm he’d established the first day, when he managed to land six birdies. Gonzalo was once again solid off the tee, but his shots to the flag were not as successful as on Thursday. He didn’t create as many opportunities, and most of all, wasn’t able to quite finalize the putt.
Fernández-Castaño took it down a notch in the tournament, but he’s not calling it quits by any means. In fact, he’s in the top 30 now, just four shots away from the top ten and six from first place. He’s got more than enough room to work with in the next two rounds, and, above all, his game is on point, as he’s demonstrated in the past five weeks. It’s important to note that this is the sixth cut in a row that the Madrid native has passed.
He’ll play this Saturday at 5:20 pm, Spanish time.
