Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño shot a 72 in the final round in the Nashville Golf Open, his consecutive round for par, with an accumulated total of -3, 44° place. The Spanish golfer maintained the same position with the same score as Sunday, but he needed better results in order to continue to move up in the Web.com Tour rankings.
According to the Tour predictions, he'll be bumped down two positions after this week.
He lost an opportunity to continue climbing to the top 25 in the Web.com Tour, but it's not the end of the world, far from it. For starters, Gonzalo was able to pull off four consecutive rounds without falling off track while up against a very demanding course. He was only lacking finesse on the greens to lower his scores in all the rounds.
In any event, the signals Gonzalo is giving off continue to be very positive. This is evident in that it’s the fifth cut in a row that he’s made in the Web.com Tour. The definitive upward curve is undeniable, in line for having a big week which would allow him to enter into the elite area of the silver division of the PGA Tour.
