Gonzalo Fernández Castaño returns to the Web.com Tour after a week’s break. The silver edition of the PGA Tour says farewell to the US for a few days and embarks on much more Spanish territory. In particular, this Thursday with the start of the Corales Punta Cana Resort and Club Championship, tournament held in the stunning hidden enclaves of the Dominican Republic.
The course is spectacular as far as landscapes go. Many of the holes are right along the sea. It opened in 2010 and was designed by Tom Fazio, one of the most reputable architects of the US. Punta Cana is one of the most popular destinations in the world and especially in the US. It’s no wonder famous people such as Bill Clinton, Charlize Theron and Julio Iglesias have or have had homes there.
Gonzalo will attempt to maintain the good level of play that he’s demonstrated in these past few weeks and to give it the impulse it needs in order to make it to the top of the rankings in the tournaments. The Madrid native will play this Thursday at seven in the morning, local time, two in the afternoon Spanish time.
