Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño made the cut at The McGladrey Classic. The Spanish golfer locked in a good round for a 69 on the second day of the tournament held at the Seaside Course in Georgia, securing the first weekend of the PGA Tour season.
Gonzalo started the day off on the attack, willing to break the streak of two tournaments in a row of not making the cut at the start of the American tour. He landed three birdies on the first six holes with just one bogey, and he made it within the red line. He was solid off the tee, catching more than seventy percent of the fairways, also on par from the fairway, catching more than sixty percent of the greens, but most of all, he was more precise. He created more options for the birdie, getting closer to the hole, and knowing how to take advantage of the possibilities.
The golfer from Puerta de Hierro gathered a nice bunch of five birdies, securing his first harvest of the year. Now, the objective is that it's as rich as possible. He has 36 holes ahead to move up in position. Currently, he is in 52º place, four shots from the top ten and eight from leader and American golfer, Russell Henley.
