Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will start the new European Tour season this Thursday in the Alfred Dunhill Championship in Leopard Creek, South Africa. He’s received an invitation which will allow him to participate, seeing as how he wouldn’t have access to the tournament otherwise, solely based on his category.
All golfers will set out to start the season off strong in order to get moving on their objectives right away, however, in Gonzalo’s case, it’s essential, since he wont have as many opportunities to play as the others due to his category. It’s precisely for this reason that Gonzalo’s main goal is to do things well from the start. Every good score counts, and above all, every top ten and top 5 is the best bridge to make it to the following week without the necessity of anymore invitations.
Gonzalo will play in the tournament this afternoon in the first round with two other South African golfers. The last time he played in this tournament was last year, and he missed the cut.
