Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (PAR) shot a 71 in the first round of the Qualifying School Final on the Lakes Course. A modest start. Not bad, but he’ll have to make up for some lost ground. Then again, he’s also got plenty of room to work with in this six-round tournament.
Gonzalo is currently just one shot away from 70th place, where there first cut line will be established after the fourth round, and three shots from 25th place, those who will earn the card.
The golfer from Madrid made two bogeys and two birdies. This Saturday, he’ll play on the Hills Course, where a round under par will be necessary in order to move closer to the top of the tournament.
