Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (-1) shot a 75 on the tough Carnoustie, putting his future on the line in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The golfer from Madrid is currently five shots away from the provisional cut, although it will most likely be established at a minimum of -8, which means he will need a solid round on Saturday on the Kingsbarns course in order to create the option to play on Sunday.
Gonzalo made two birdies today, three bogeys and a painful double bogey on the 7th hole. The round started off rocky, with a bogey and a double bogey on the first seven holes. He came back with two big birdies on the 10th and 12th holes, but he finished the round with another two bogeys on the 15th and 18th. Tomorrow, he’ll play on Kingsbarns with Christian Bezuidenhout.
