Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (PAR) landed another par in the second round of the Scandinavian Invitation, the same as Thursday, a sufficient score to just barely make the cut, allowing him the opportunity to improve over the weekend at the Hills Golf & Sports Club in Gothenburg.
He’s currently eleven shots away from leader, Matthew Fitzpatrick (-11), but the golfer from Madrid made his fourth consecutive cut which, in one way, is a demonstration of that consistency he’s been after. In fact, the last time Fernández Castaño made four cuts in a row was between the months of March and May in 2017, more than two years ago now, in his last season of the PGA Tour.
Just like in the first round, the Spanish golfer finished with another solid round, with three birdies and three bogeys, overcoming the fact of having started in the more difficult games as far as playing conditions in both rounds (Thursday afternoon and Friday morning), mainly due to the rain.
