Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (+1) shot a 73 in the third round of the DAP Championship. Tough day at work with lots of action. He went down in the rankings a bit, but scores are so tight that anything can happen. This third round could just simply be a bump in the road.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (-2) made the cut at the DAP Championship, first tournament of the Web.com Tour Final Series. First step, check. The Madrid native had to wait until Saturday morning to verify it. He was unable to finish yesterday due to lack of light. The game had to be suspended because of the rain and kept a lot of golfers from being able to finish the round.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (-3) got off to a solid start in the DAP Championship, first tournament of the Web.com Tour Final Series. The Spanish golfer shot a 67 at the Canterbury Golf Club in Ohio and is now provisionally in eighth place. Provisional because the round was not able to be completed due to bad weather. Practically the entire afternoon session has yet to finish the round.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will dive head first into the mother of all battles this Thursday. It’s the beginning of the end, the Final Series of the Web.com Tour. Four consecutive tournaments that will dictate which 25 players will accompany the other 25 who already earned the PGA Tour card when the regular season finished. Four tournaments where there’s no option other than to look forward, make a lot of birdies and stay high in the rankings.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño shot a 69 in the final round of the Winco Foods Portland Open. The Madrid native ended up in 26th place with a total of eight under par. His score wasn’t enough to finish out the regular Web.com Tour among the top 25 in the rankings, those who obtained the PGA Tour card for next season. In the end, he finished in 64th place.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño needed to respond well in Oregon and he did just that. The Madrid native improved his game considerably in the third round of the Winco Foods Portland Open, who shot a 68 and is now at six under par, six shots from the top two spots, the objective of the week in order to finish in the top 25 of the Web.com Tour and to reach his target.
