Gonzalo Fernández Castaño will compete in the RSM Classic this week, the last tournament of the PGA Tour year. The Madrid native will attempt to finish the year 2016 out in a big way. The tournament is held on two courses at the Sea Island Resort, a very exclusive residential area on the St. Simons Island, in Georgia, very close to Florida.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (PAR) did not make the cut at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, after shooting a 70 in the second round, one under par for the day, and after having had a clearly spit performance.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+1) didn’t get off to a good start in the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, after shooting a 72. In the second round, and going in at 88th place, a good response will be necessary to make the cut which could quite possibly end up at -1, if the current playing conditions continue.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño will compete in the fourth tournament of the 2016-17 PGA Tour season, at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, held on El Camaleón course (Playa del Carmen, México). It’s not the first time the Spanish golfer will be playing here and he’s ready to finally feel at ease and to get a good score. He didn’t make the cut last year, although in the second round he shot a spectacular 66 which should serve as a guide to follow this week.
Rod Pampling (-20) won the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open ten years after his last victory in the PGA Tour. The Australian golfer, who won back his rights to play in the most important tour in the world in the Web.com Final Series, dominated the tournament from start to finish, mostly thanks to the 60 he shot in the first round.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-4) made the cut with room to spare in the Shriners Hospital for Children Open, after he shot a 68 in the second round. He has secured his presence this weekend at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, although there are still a few golfers who have to finish their second round.
