Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+1) accomplished his main objective in the FedEX St. Jude Classic, just as it had to pan out on Thursday, after signing a well-deserved card for 68 shots and just barely making it past the cut. He’ll still have to make the cut on Saturday, the second cut, due to the fact that 86 golfers, which were the top 70 and ties, made it through as well...
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+3) shot a 73 in the first round of the FedEX St. Jude Classic, tournament held at TPC Southwind in Memphis, with four leaders at the moment, American golfers Stewart Cink, Scott Brown and Matt Every and Colombian golfer Sebastián Muñoz, all sitting at -6.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño didn’t manage to earn a spot in the US Open in the qualifying round on the Brookside and the Lakes courses in Columbus, Ohio. The Madrid native had a pretty solid performance; he shot a 70 and a 68 and was not at all far from succeeding. However, in the end he was left just two shots short of the objective.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño will compete in the US Open qualifying round this Monday. One tournament. 36 holes. Two rounds of golf. And one sole objective: to obtain one of the spots to play next week at Erin Hills. The US Open will be held from June 15th to 18th at the epic course in Wisconsin.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+4) shot par in the second round of the AT&T Byron Nelson and did not make the cut. It wasn’t enough to make it to the weekend in this PGA Tour tournament held on TPC Four Seasons course in Texas.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (+4) didn’t get off to an ideal start at the AT&T Byron Nelson, PGA Tour tournament held on TPC Four Seasons course. He didn’t have much luck with the tee time either, a big factor in golf tournaments. Gonzalo started in the afternoon, right when the wind was blowing the strongest. So much so that the difference in the average score between the morning and afternoon was almost two shots, a significant amount.
