Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will play in the Open de France at the legendary Le Golf National in Paris, host to the Ryder Cup just under a year ago. The golfer from Madrid will start the second-to-last tournament of the season on the regular calendar (apart from the final series) with the goal of taking the final leap toward maintaining the European Tour card.
Gonzalo Fernández Castaño (-1) closed out the Open with a 72, one over par, finishing in 48th place, a score which has helped him to continue accumulating points, but insufficient, however, in resolving his delicate situation in the Race to Dubai.

The golfer from Madrid shot a 69 this Friday and made the cut, a crucial and very important step in attempt to accumulate the most amount of points possible in order to get closer to, or even secure his spot among the top 110 in the Race to Dubai.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (+1) managed to come out of the first round unscathed after the first head-to-head combat with the unforgiving Olgiata Golf Club course in Rome, a long course with a heavy rough and where it’s really difficult to create good options for birdie.
Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño will play in the Italian Open starting this Thursday, European Tour tournament which immediately brings a smile to face. He has taken home the win on two separate occasions in this tournament, once in 2007 and again in 2012, making for the only double win in the European Tour in his trophy room.
